<p>Fiber supplements can be tremendously beneficial for IBS sufferers. Although supplements such as Metamucil and Citrucel are generally marketed as laxatives, and are very useful for constipation sufferers, they can also be used to combat diarrhea because they add bulk to the diet and can make<span id="more-2375"></span> waste food more solid.
<p>These supplements are not really medications &#8211; most are simply fiber products with no added drugs or herbs, and so they can be taken long term on a daily basis without worrying about side effects. They&#8217;re just the equivalent of adding lots of fruit and bran to your diet, but without having to eat daily apples or worry about bloating from the bran. </p>
<p>Do check, though, that the supplement you choose is just made up of fiber and nothing more, as you will occasionally find one that has added chemical laxatives or other ingredients that can upset your stomach.</p>
<p>It is important to make sure you find the fiber supplement that&#8217;s right for you, as IBS sufferers often have very sensitive stomachs. Some people find that the psyllium fiber in supplements such as Metamucil can irritate their intestines, so if that happens to you try one of the methylcellulose products such as Citrucel, or other types of fiber such as acacia fiber.</p>
<p>Another point to be aware of is that some manufacturers use artificial sweeteners in their products, and these can sometimes cause problems for IBS sufferers. There should be a normal, sweetener-free version to choose instead, and the amount of sugar in a few spoonfuls should not have a huge impact on any diet you are on.</p>
<p>Whatever type of fiber you choose, you must make sure to build the dosage up gradually. If you add masses of fiber to your diet all at once you will probably feel very gassy and bloated. Instead, try just a small spoon of fiber once a day and build up to the recommended dose on the label. Most supplements will recommend that you take the product with lots of water, and to make sure you are drinking enough water for the rest of the day as well.</p>
<p>It will take a little while before you see the effects of the supplement, so don&#8217;t give up if you don&#8217;t feel better after a few days. Try taking a supplement for one or two weeks to really give it time to work.</p>
<p>These days there are many different ways to take fiber supplements. You can buy the traditional powder form, which is swallowed with water or soft food, or you can buy wafers, tablets or capsules, which can be very handy if you need to travel and don&#8217;t want to carry a whole can of fiber with you.</p>
<p>Most people prefer to take one dose of fiber in the early morning, perhaps with their breakfast, and then another with dinner or just before their evening meal. You will need to experiment to find the right dosage for your symptoms and the best time to take the fiber, but if you can find a supplement and dose that works for you it will be well worth the effort, because you will have found a cheap, drug-free way to help keep your IBS under control.</p>

It takes a real nutritionist, or somebody with a degree in this field to really tell you what&#8217;s good for you when it comes to what you eat.</p>
<p>Sure, there are a lot of them who publish books every year on how you can live a fitter and healthier life by following their advice on nutrition. Many of them provide you with sound advice, although there are still those<span id="more-2373"></span> who continue to perpetuate nutrition myths that may prove harmful to you.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s why I&#8217;m revealing to you these myths in this article so you can save yourself from the frustration and the possible danger that these myths can bring you.</p>
<p>Let&#8217;s begin.</p>
<p>Myth 1 &#8211; Nutrition isn&#8217;t important in softball</p>
<p>When you compare softball with other sports such as football and basketball, you&#8217;ll probably notice that softball isn&#8217;t as intense as the other sports I&#8217;ve mentioned. Because of this, some players and coaches think that nutrition wouldn&#8217;t be much of a factor when you&#8217;re playing softball.</p>
<p>Quite the contrary. Just like other sports, you still have to spend more than the usual amount of energy in order to play this game compared to normal activities such as sitting down or walking. That&#8217;s why you need to have enough fuel to last you throughout the game.</p>
<p>And since softball involves a lot of time practicing, the food that you eat will also help you recover much quickly and help keep you from getting injured easily.</p>
<p>Myth 2 &#8211; Eating fatty foods won&#8217;t affect you</p>
<p>When you&#8217;re in a game, you can be sure that classic foods such as hotdogs and burgers will always be available in nearby stalls.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s why it&#8217;s easy to forget about your health and consume these foods before or after the game. Although I still wouldn&#8217;t recommend you to eat fatty and greasy foods after a game, the more that I wouldn&#8217;t recommend you do it before you play ball.</p>
<p>Why? Although fats can be a source of fuel for your body, they are difficult to digest and difficult to burn. That&#8217;s why you&#8217;ll notice that you&#8217;re performance will be severely diminished if you eat fatty foods just before the game.</p>
<p>Myth 3 &#8211; You can improve your performance by taking supplements</p>
<p>This statement is pretty tricky because indeed, you can improve your performance by taking supplements. But keep in mind that they&#8217;re only designed to supplement the nutrients that you&#8217;re supposed to be taking in from the foods that you eat. Therefore, they&#8217;re not substitutes to eating healthy.</p>
<p>That said, always remember to eat the right type and the right amount of foods. That helps boost your performance better than simply relying on supplements alone.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m pretty sure you&#8217;ve heard of all of these nutrition myths before. Now that I&#8217;ve helped you uncover them, I hope that you&#8217;ll finally be able to take your path towards a healthier life. And that&#8217;s what you need, not only because you&#8217;re playing softball, but because you need to it to live a more fulfilling life with your family. </p>

<p>Women have special health needs at different stages of our lives.  We may need a specific vitamin supplement for a woman at one stage of our life and need something completely different at another period.  Doctors often prescribe vitamin and iron supplements for a woman who is expecting.  If<span id="more-2365"></span> she does, take them as directed and do not alter the dose. While a lack of a particular vitamin can cause deficiencies, too much can result in toxicity.
<p>When a vitamin supplement for a woman is recommended or prescribed it is because it contains the specific vitamin or vitamins a woman&#8217;s body needs.  Your doctor will take into the account the amount of calcium and other nutrients that you need on a daily basis and make his recommendation.</p>
<p>You should familiarize yourself with the different vitamins and their role in your health.  You want to know in what foods you can get certain vitamins and how much of each of the vitamins that your body needs.  If you are taking a vitamin supplement for a woman because you are pregnant, you&#8217;ll want to investigate whether or not you&#8217;ll need one after you give birth.</p>
<p>If you have a disease or a condition that dictates you take a special vitamin supplement for a woman it may be something you always have to deal with.  Your doctor can certainly advise you on this.  However, in most cases, pregnancy notwithstanding, you should be able to get all the vitamins and minerals you need from a balanced diet.  Your doctor can do a simple blood test to check the levels of certain vitamins in your system and whether or not you are deficient.</p>
<p>It is important to note that vitamins A, D, E and K are fat soluble.  An excess amount of these vitamins are stored either in fatty tissue or the liver until needed.  Because of this, toxicity can occur if too many vitamins are taken.  While that rarely happens when we get our vitamins solely from the foods we eat, it can and does happen when we combine too many vitamin supplements with our diets.  Discuss this with your doctor if you think you need a vitamin supplement for a woman.</p>

The Ever-Popular E/C/A Stack Bigger And Better Than Ever</p>
<p>There are really only two things that matter to a bodybuilder! 1) How big he is! And 2) How ripped he is! However, if you ask a hundred guys which one of the two is most difficult to obtain&#8230; 85% would say getting really ripped is the toughest! And remember this: a very smooth 18 &#189; inch arm&#8230; will look<span id="more-2360"></span> much less impressive to the casual observer (women!!) than a ripped to the bone 16 &#189; inch arm!</p>
<p>So as a &#8220;dedication&#8221; to pleasing the eyes of women this summer, this article will certainly help you please them as it unlocks the mystery of how to easily accomplish one of the hardest things in bodybuilding&#8230; getting freaky ripped!</p>
<p>Let&#8217;s get started! If you&#8217;ve been around the &#8220;game&#8221; for any length of time no doubt you&#8217;re already familiar with the famous ephedrine, caffeine, aspirin stack that originated all the way back to the early 1980&#8217;s.</p>
<p>However, as famous as this stack is, few people actually know the underlying bio-chemical reasons for its profound effects on fat metabolism. So the first part of this article is going to re-investigate the E/C/A stack so you can &#8220;grasp&#8221; why it actually works in the first place. Or should I say&#8230; your understanding of how it works will go deeper because you already know this stack causes what&#8217;s called thermogenic action, or a &#8220;heating up effect&#8221; in the body and thus the burning of fat!</p>
<p>OK, so what actually causes this reaction in the body&#8230; or better put, what is the first cause, from a bio-chemical standpoint, that leads to the actual elevation of body temperature that induces thermogenisis?</p>
<p>Well, I&#8217;ll tell you. The actual first cause of this thermogenic process is the increase in a molecule called cyclic Adenosine monophosphate, or cAMP for short.</p>
<p>cAMP is a chemical messenger derived from 5-adenosine tri-phosphate and its primary function is to act as an intracellular (inside the cell) transferer of hormones which cannot get through the cell membrane! And, it&#8217;s the elevation of this molecule that also causes the &#8220;heating up&#8221; or thermogenic action of the E/C/A stack&#8230; because the entire stack was designed to&#8230; elevate the hell out of cAMP!</p>
<p>So you see, this little known molecule will not only get you ripped out of your gourd&#8230; it will also transfer hormones (like testosterone and growth hormone) into the nucleus of the cell and increase their effect on protein synthesis even more!</p>
<p>So not only will elevated levels of cAMP get you ripped where you need to be ripped&#8230; it will also help you get big where you need to get big!</p>
<p>OK, now that you know that the &#8220;first cause&#8221; of thermogenisis is elevated cAMP levels, let&#8217;s breakdown all these components of the E/C/A stack and see how they effect cAMP levels. And after that, I&#8217;ll turn you on to a fourth &#8220;cAMP elevator&#8221; that will take this already incredible fat burning stack to a completely new level!</p>
<p>1.Ephedrine</p>
<p>Ephedrine acts as a beta agonist and stimulates the release of noradrenaline&#8230; which then burns fat (especially hard to get rid of brown fat) by elevating cAMP. So the simple equation goes like this. Ephedrine intake &#8220;equals&#8221; noradrenaline release which &#8220;equals&#8221; cAMP release which then elevates body temperature and the eventual fat burning process.</p>
<p>2. Caffeine</p>
<p>Isn&#8217;t caffeine an amazing drug? Especially if you can get injectable caffeine citrate (Caficit), the most potent form available made by pharmaceutical giant Bhoenringer Ingelheim. But if you can&#8217;t, a strong cup of good old fashioned Folgers will still do the trick.</p>
<p>Why is it so amazing? Because it actually elevates cAMP by two mechanisms of action. The first is by the suppression of an enzyme called phosphodiestere. And the reason this is so important is because high levels of phosphodiestere greatly inhibit cAMP so you want to nullify this enzyme as much as you can. Additionally, caffeine also causes the release of noradrenaline, and as you already know, increased noradrenaline levels increase cAMP which in turn heats up the body!</p>
<p>3. Aspirin</p>
<p>Most guys won&#8217;t know this but many prescription drugs are inhibitors of enzymes, and this is how aspirin effects the E/C/A stack, through enzyme manipulation. And, as you should know, enzyme reactions in the body are our entire existence&#8230; because nothing &#8220;happens first&#8221; unless an enzyme is present to catalyze the reaction. For example, the reason people die when they take cyanide is because it destroys enzymes called Oxygenases that allow you to synthesize oxygen. So without the Oxyegenase enzyme&#8230; no oxygen, no life.</p>
<p> Now to the &#8220;coup de grace&#8221;, the final and fourth blow to all that stubborn fat that&#8217;s been hiding an otherwise perfect body. It&#8217;s called Enerselen.</p>
<p>4. Enerselen</p>
<p>Enerselen is another monster 5-adenosine tri-phosphate compound similar to TridenosenH&#8482;. The biggest differences between the two is that Enerselen is synthetic 5-adenosine tri-phosphate bonded to synthetic 5-uridine tri-phosphate (another potent anabolic cellular compound) where as TridenosenH&#8482; is synthetic 5-adenosine tri-phosphate bonded to 5-arginine alpha Ketoglutarate which then increases endogenous (internal) synthesis of 5-uridine tri-phosphate. So basically, it&#8217;s a &#8220;toss-up&#8221; as for one being better than another, but we will say this&#8230; Enerselen is an illegal/controlled substance that you&#8217;re going to &#8220;pay hell&#8221; to get a hold of, while TridenosenH&#8482; is legally available without a prescription, and in most instances, cheaper. </p>
<p>Let&#8217;s continue&#8230;</p>
<p>As you remember from the introduction, cyclic Adenosine monophosphate, &#8220;cAMP&#8221; is derived from 5-adenosine tri-phosphate. So, based on this simple logic, the more 5-adenosine tri-phosphate (and 5-uridine tri-phosphate) you have in your body, the more cAMP you&#8217;re going to have.</p>
<p>And the &#8220;more the merrier&#8221; it seems, is best with cAMP&#8230; because it&#8217;s almost impossible to get too much!</p>
<p>So in conclusion, if all these components of the famous E/C/A were intended to &#8220;indirectly&#8221; manipulate cAMP levels, and cAMP is derived &#8220;directly&#8221; from 5-adenosine tri-phosphate&#8230; then it doesn&#8217;t take Albert Einstein to deduce that compounds like Enerselen and TridenosenH&#8482; are more potent thermogenically then the E/C/A stack!</p>
<p>And it also wouldn&#8217;t take Einstein&#8217;s enormous intellect to figure out that adding the E/C/A stack to either Enerselen or TridenosenH&#8482;&#8230; would simply make the whole thing, from a purely scientific viewpoint, the best fat burning combo ever invented!</p>
<p>And if any of the &#8220;Junior Chemists&#8221; out there think they can refute this scientific logic&#8230; then bring it the hell on! Oh, and one more thing. Be sure to keep your protein intake even higher with lots of water, because both Enerselen And TridenosenH&#8482; are both very anabolic. So not only are guys getting shredded beyond comparison, they are putting on some serious muscle as well.</p>

<p>How much is too much? </p>
<p>When it comes to youth sports, it appears the answer is nothing is too much. The average professional hockey, basketball, or soccer player plays around 80 games a year &#8211; another 20 if he or she is on a championship team. Ten-year old kids often<span id="more-2359"></span> play the same number, along with practices and weekend tournaments.
<p>So what&#8217;s going on?</p>
<p>What&#8217;s going on is that adults have stolen sports from kids. We&#8217;ve professionalized sports, organized the games we used to play in the schoolyard or on the streets for hours as kids. Instead of those endless games, parents drive their kids to league games and practices, where whistles and coaches tell kids what to do and how to do it. This goes on five, six, even seven times a week. Sure, a precious few go on to superstardom as professional athletes, but they&#8217;re the one percent of the one percent. The rest burn out by 14. </p>
<p>Is it really necessary to travel hours every weekend to yet another tournament? Is that third practice a week really adding to a young person&#8217;s enjoyment? Is there not something wrong about $50,000 budgets for 12-year old hockey teams?</p>
<p>More is not necessarily better. The magic number is three &#8211; one game and two practices a week. Until a kid is 13 or 14, that is enough of any one activity. Let them develop a number of interests &#8211; sports, reading, music, and maybe hanging out with friends once in a while. After that age, if the interest is still there, then it might be appropriate to let them focus totally on one thing.</p>
<p>We need to remember that sports are for kids &#8211; not for those watching from the sidelines. Professional athletes are paid millions to play 80 games a year; and our kids are paying a high cost for our obsession with organized sports.</p>

<p>What gets you all excited about your favourite sport? &#8230; the thrill of the chase in horse racing or maybe the atmosphere and tension of a ball game, maybe your favourite player? &#8230; Well if you were to capture some of these scenes how would you do it best?  For some digital photography tips, let&#8217;s take a look at a few ideas right now to capture that realism &#8230;<span id="more-2344"></span></p>
<p>Get Familiar</p>
<p>It&#8217;s worth getting familiar with the sport before you start shooting, for example, how points are scored, what causes penalties etc, as this will give you an advantage over others &#8230; you will learn to expect where the best action is likely to be, and you can then capture those glorious moments.  </p>
<p>Another great tip, as well as aiming to catch the action, capture the &#8216;emotion&#8217; too.   Be ready to shoot players&#8217; faces on triumph of a goal, or any other emotive action in the game and you will bring your photos alive!</p>
<p>Be Prepared</p>
<p>Cold and bad weather conditions can quickly rob the life of your digital camera&#8217;s battery, so it&#8217;s important to always carry an extra charged battery especially for outdoor sports.</p>
<p>Action Techniques</p>
<p>Stop Action &#8230; you&#8217;ll very quickly be able to shoot an action shot and &#8216;freeze&#8217; your subject practically in mid air.  Imagine the wheels of a drag car on a dirt road, bouncing off the many bumps &#8230; for those few seconds while the car is in mid air, snap away to capture the action.   </p>
<p>Lighting is not too much of an issue if you&#8217;re outside on a sunny or partially sunny day say at a car race, dog track, or horse race etc, but you&#8217;ll maybe need to make adjustments if you&#8217;re inside a gymnasium shooting a basketball game, for example.  If the lighting is bright, then you&#8217;ll probably be okay, but depending on the type of lighting, you may need to activate your fill flash if you shoot players in action and you find your photo colorisation shifting to &#8216;yellow&#8217;.  </p>
<p>Also bear in mind the distance, as your flash will not carry too far &#8230; it might be worth sitting near the basket hoop to catch the action!</p>
<p>Blurred Action &#8230; a couple of ideas behind blurred action is, firstly &#8230; if you look back at your photos you have taken using Stop Action, you may find one or two shots that did not freeze the action, which means your camera did not catch the action at the right moment &#8230; so you end up with an interestingly blurry effect to your subject.  </p>
<p>Secondly, if you&#8217;re shooting a ball game, for example, you may get blurring if your player moves just as you click your shutter.  If you did not intend for this to happen, you might be pleasantly surprised with the effect!</p>
<p>Panned Action &#8230; the most difficult to accomplish, but probably the most effective shooting technique, once mastered.  The advantage using your digital camera is that you can delete unwanted frames and start again, so here&#8217;s how panning basically works&#8230;</p>
<p>Using your digital camera in automatic mode press the shutter half way down to focus on your subject, moving your camera sideways following the action, then pressing the shutter fully while still moving your camera.  The effect created is the front of your subject should remain in fairly strong focus, while the back of your subject should start to blur, and as it blurs a long trail should appear,  giving a feeling of movement like no other effect could possibly achieve.</p>
<p>Experiment</p>
<p>By knowing what your digital camera can do, experiment with different methods to get the best shots.  You could try shooting in continuous mode, then try panning the camera along with your subject, whilst he/she or it is in motion.</p>
